We categorize places that pursue fair practices into two stages:
These are places that have a policy of not accepting tips. It is usually stated on the menu or receipt with a note like "We do not accept tips."
This category also includes places where tipping is not traditionally expected, such as fast food restaurants and similar establishments.
These are places that do accept tips but aim for better tipping practices. These restaurants do not impose excessive tip percentages in response to rising costs, thereby avoiding shifting wage burdens onto customers.
Alternatively, they do not enforce a fixed tip rate that restricts customers' ability to tip freely.
Lastly, places that pay their staff a fair wage but still allow tipping are also included in this category.
If you visited the place yourself, please provide more detailed information. Was there no mention of tips at all on kiosks or payment terminals? Were there no options to leave a tip, and did the staff tell you that they don’t accept tips when you tried to leave one?
If your experience is based on an external source rather than a personal visit, please let us know. Does the article or post clearly state that this place has a no-tip policy?
